Kawaii Not?
What does it mean to be a “kawaii” Neko? Most of the time, kawaii is simply translated to mean “cute.” But as Rini Yamada says on MyNippon.com, “…it is much, much more than a fashion statement — Kawaii is a lifestyle and an attitude.”
Or to put it in the words of one Japanese girl, “It’s not just how we dress, it’s how we are.”
“When you walk down the streets of Japan,” says Yamada, “especially in large cities such as Tokyo and Osaka, you see girls dressed in things westerners would never wear — including flamboyant colors, and shoes so high you wonder how they can stand.”

And yet to many of these girls, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference. Things like, you guessed it…. accessories!!!!! ::: as my kitteh heart begins to pitter pat :::
Yes my Neko friends, I’ll confess: accessories are my very own personal Neko addiction. You know what I’m talking about… those adorable mousies and pandas and tuna fish cans and candy bars and bows and bells and endless adorable cuteness (kawaii-ness?) that strap onto my arms, legs, back, belt, leg warmers, boots, and collar. My inventory contains actual subfolders of Neko accessories, broken down into arms, legs, backpacks/bags, and jewelry. In fact I’m constantly having to show restraint when I get dressed for the blog, worried that I’ll wear all of these cute goodies too soon, before Second Life Neko designers can supply my addiction with new stuff. ^_^

Okay, enough rambling… Here’s a little kawaii neko cuteness to convince you that you can, indeed, set aside the bloody, rusted, barbed-wire arm bands, torn t-shirts, and dirty skin for just one night, while still remaining true to your adorable Neko heart:
| Hair | Kin: Ryuuzaki in pink with white tips
| Shirt | WRONG: Mini sweater in black
| Fur Trim on Shirt | IMT: Breckenridge Jacket – just the faux fur collar and cuff attachments (no longer available)
| Backpack | Atomic Kitty: Plushie Backpack Neko – sadly this is no longer available 😦
| Arm Upper | Sey: Cat arm belt
| Belly Piercing | EarthStones: Belly Bead Belly Ring in Tahitian Black Pearl
| Skirt | WRONG: Polkadot Mini (including black stockings)
| Leg Band | Sey: Mouse Leg Belt (top photo, small round image)
| Legwarmers | Kitty Scraps: Cavity Legwarmers Pink/Rusty (these are not currently available in the store)
| Shoes | UBU / Urban Bomb Unit: Pink Psycho Rain boots (foot only)
