Old Second Life Neko Photos

Second Life’s first catboy Chibi Chang, admiring the Moonlight in Summer 2003

After posting a blog story about the early days of SL Neko-dom from Chibi Chang’s perspective (a catboy born into Second Life in May 2003), I saw countless messages from readers in various forums all wishing for photos from those early years. Last night Chibi was kind enough to dig through the remote, dusty corners of his 7 years’ worth of inventory to share what he had with us all. (Click on any photo to see a larger view.)

Monument put up inside SL to commemorate the beta testers, in mid 2003 (Chibi’s name is roughly in the middle of the photo)

Early 2004, sitting on Madame’s Piano

Mew Mew Shop Shop, located on a 4×4 plot of land, where Chibi briefly sold ears, tails, a bell collar, his laser sword, and a few other goodies… all circa 2004

All three of Chibi’s avatars have a confrontation in 2004

Chibi’s Kazenojin build in gray… taken when he came back to Second Life’s version 1.2, after the pay-to-play period ended.

Chibi begins to remake his look, some time in 2005 (background added by Stacia)

Another remake in 2007, taken in Chakryn Forest

All photos taken by and © Chibi Chang 2003 – 2010. Be sure to read his full story of what it was like to be in Second Life from 2003 on.
